IFSTTAR Lille - Villeneuve d'Ascq (France). Postdoc position

Dear colleagues,

IFSTTAR Lille - Villeneuve d'Ascq (France) invites applications for a one-year position as postdoc in operations research and artificial intelligence applied to rail transportation. The position is renewable once.

This position is part of the ELSAT 2020 project: “Ecomobility, Logistics, Security and Adaptability in Transport.” It is funded by the French government, the French “Hauts de France” Region and the European Regional Development Fund. In particular, the post-doc will be involved in the project “Hybrid approach in logistics” of the first Strategic Objective “Optimizing Mobility Systems and Logistics”.

The post-doc will focus on the design and development of hybrid optimization modules for logistics and rail traffic management. These modules will be integrated in a closed-loop simulation environment for testing and assessing the rail and logistic system. The research will focus on both theoretical and methodological aspects, to allow the emergence of new solution approaches. These approaches will have to be effective for the solution of difficult and (very) large instances of hard combinatorial problems.

Applicants must have a PhD in operations research, computer science, software engineering, applied mathematics or equivalent. They must be willing to integrate to the research activities of the team of the COSYS-ESTAS laboratory by providing original ideas, participating to international conferences and producing high quality scientific papers. Call for Extended Abstracts for TRISTAN 2019

Call for Extended Abstracts for TRISTAN 2019

We invite researchers to participate in the 10th Triennial Symposium on Transportation Analysis (TRISTAN 2019, or TRISTAN X). This symposium will be held 17-21 June 2019 on Hamilton Island, near the Great Barrier Reef, in Australia.

TRISTAN X is an opportunity for you to showcase recent research and applications in transportation analysis and transportation science. Earlier TRISTAN symposiums have established a tradition of a symposium of high scientific quality, with lots of interaction during and outside the technical sessions, a good sense of community, and enriching and enjoyable social tours.

We are expecting well over 100 academics, researchers and practitioners from around the world to convene to discuss mathematical models, methodologies and computational results, and to exchange ideas on advanced applications and technologies in transportation.

Submission of Extended Abstracts for TRISTAN X is now open through EasyChair, at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=tristan2019. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is 15 October 2018.

More details on submission, including Word and LaTeX templates for extended abstracts, are available at the conference website, http://www.tristan2019.org/
